Charles "Chip" Hinnant grew up in Anderson, South Carolina, where he developed a passion for Clemson Football and spending time on Lake Hartwell. Chip attended the College of Charleston as an undergraduate where he worked as the managing editor of the college newspaper and received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
 
As the son of an attorney, Chip enjoyed studying the law throughout college and thereafter earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Charlotte School of Law. While in law school, Chip served as the Associate Justice of Finance for the Charlotte Law Moot Court Board and competed in the American Bar Association's National Moot Court Competitions in Washington, D.C., and Boston, winning awards for writing the 2nd best brief and being among the competition's best advocates. Chip also served at the North Carolina Court of Appeals as a summer clerk for The Honorable Judge Robert N. Hunter, Jr., and as an intern at the North Carolina Business Court for The Honorable Judge Calvin Murphy.  

Chip is a recipient of the Charlotte Law Scholar award for writing a work of publishable quality as a law student, and graduated law school with the Pro Bono Highest Honors Distinction after completing in excess of 250 hours of pro bono legal service.  Chip has also served as a teaching assistant for legal courses in civil procedure and legal writing, in addition to serving as a research assistant for a publication implicating the Healthcare Quality Improvement Act (HCQIA).  Chip was the winner of the 2010 National Law Review Student Legal Writing Competition for his analysis of Gross v. FBL Financial Services, Inc., 129 S. Ct. 2943 (2009), within his published article entitled "How the Supreme Court Skirted ADEA Issues During Reductions in Force and What Must Be Done to Fix It".    
  
As a trial lawyer with Ted A. Greve & Associates, PA, Chip represents Plaintiffs in matters involving catastrophic personal injuries, wrongful death, worker's compensation, nursing home abuse and neglect, and medical negligence.  Chip also pursues cases implicating the North and South Carolina State Torts Claims Act, the Federal Torts Claims Act, qui tam whistleblower actions, and ERISA benefits cases.

In 2016, The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys named Chip one of the top 10 personal injury attorneys under 40 years of age in North Carolina, and awarded Chip their prestigious "Top 10 Under 40" award after a rigorous recommendation and review process.  

Chip enjoys football, traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking, and playing poker.  He is married to his lovely wife, Carrie Hinnant, and they live in Charlotte, North Carolina, with their two dogs, Ruxin and Millie.

Chip is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and South Carolina.
