A native Marylander, Matt was raised in Montgomery County and went to school in Frederick. He left Maryland to attend Grove City College in Pennsylvania. At Grove City, he was a two sport captain and four year letter winner for the Men's Swimming and Diving Team as well as the Men's Water Polo Team.

He obtained his law degree at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Through Regent, he also completed the International Law & Human Rights Program in Strasbourg, France, and studied at Oxford University, Hertford College in Oxford, England.

In 2017, Maryland attorney Matt Trollinger recognized a need for a new type of law firm that could help clients with their injuries: a firm with an emphasis on client service and thorough care of personal injury and workers' compensation cases. The sole purpose of Trollinger Law, LLC is to compensate and fight for those who are injured.

Matt was selected by his peers in the negligence and workers' compensation areas of law as the Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association's Negligence, Insurance and Workers' Compensation Section, has been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Personal Injury in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 and is happy to be selected as a Top 10 under 40 with NAOPIA for the fourth year.  Matt is active in his community in southern Maryland and enjoys fighting for the injured.
